Shut up, legs!

I’m just about to burst. We just started planning our trip to Germany for next June when I suddenly remembered that the 2017 Tour de France Grand Depart is in Düsseldorf on July 1! This is perfect. Michael has a global meeting in Hamburg from June 26 to 30. Oh, how the stars are aligning!

For those of you who don’t know, I’m a pro cycling fan. I’ve been to many professional cycling races, including the 2005 Tour de France, and have met my cycling heroes. I’m practically guaranteed to see Jensie in Düsseldorf, right? You better believe I’ll be wearing my signed jersey that he sent me this summer.

I’m so flipping excited!

We aren’t sure yet how long we’ll stay. We have a lot of flexibility during the summer. Zach will be out of school, and my semester will start in August. So, maybe a month? Maybe I’ll just stay forever. 🙂

We want to see Hamburg, Berlin, Düsseldorf and Bavaria. Zach and I want to practice our language skills and we want to drink in the history and culture. We want to tour as many of the jaw-dropping castles as we can. Depending on how much time we have, we could hit some more cities in Germany or even venture to Amsterdam and Prague.

I’m so flipping excited. Have I mentioned that?

Shout it from the mountaintops

Whenever a reader of this blog reads past posts, I get a summary of which ones. I like to go back and read them because I have forgotten so many details.

I really love doing that.

I love seeing where I was, how far I’ve come, how much I’ve grown and really, how content I am in my life now. I am able to do all of the things I missed — EVERYTHING! I feel like shouting from the mountaintops! I am not only living my life again, I’m living my life better. And it all happened because I just kept taking steps. I had NO idea what this path looked like. But no knowledge of the path can make up for just putting one foot in front of the other!
